I readily admit I am usually sports averse (except for baseball). But, when it comes to the Winter Olympics, I'm a FANatic!! I've watched most of the events this year. Wow. With the technology available to us today, the coverage is extremely impressive. I've been around long enough to remember how it used to be before the Internet, HD and digital—what a difference. I downloaded the Microsoft Silverlight, just to check it out, and it does seem to enhance the quality of video—more like 3-D. Very cool.The hockey grudge match between USA and Canada ended with an unexpected winner. Yikes. The police were preparing for trouble, just in case. But the pairings for the metal events are still to be decided and the games played, so, more suspense to come.
That crazy biathlon event is just too boring (maybe not as boring as curling) and, I know it's been an Olympic event since 1960; but I don't think most viewers are that interested. It doesn't hold my attention. Oh well....
Sorry to end on a downer, but how nice for us that we still get to enjoy some good, clean fun while our troops are dying for democracy in Afganistan. It doesn't seem right and it makes me very sad. Peace be with them.
